It’s EDS awareness month and I’m kicking off #MyEDSChallenge!
I’m Andrea and I have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I am a scientist working full time in technology development for MRI, and I have degrees in physics, materials science, and atmospheric&climate science. I love fiber arts: I spin my own yarn on a #schachtmatchless, I weave on an #öxabäck Lilla floor loom, and I knit! I also love baking, reading, geeking out about the weather, and fountain pens. I’m a cat person 😺
I’m in pain every day and am easily injured by activities of daily living; when I tried to put together a summary of my ongoing and episodic health issues for my #hEDS diagnosis, my list had 109 items! Despite it all, I’ve had some amazing adventures in my life: I spent a year wintering over at the #southpole (Antarctica), a year as a weather observer at the “home of the world’s worst weather” (Mount Washington Observatory), and 3.5 years as an expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
